Domaine Claude Bentz
The Claude Bentz vineyard stands out for the quality of its products and its traditional know-how.
Originally founded in 1933 by Joseph Bentz in Bech-Kleinmacher. The vineyard is currently runned by Claude Bentz, the third generation of winemakers, who built in 1986 in Remich, the modern winery. In September 2019, the eldest daughter Carole joined the Estate to consolidate the work accomplished by previous generations and to prepare the vineyard for the challenges of the future.
In 1993, Claude Bentz was Luxembourg’s first independent winemaker to equip himself with a complex computerised fermentation control system. The precise and continuous temperature control during the whole fermentation process contributes to the efficiency of their production process and the high quality of their wines.
It is according to this model that renowned grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer, have been grown diligently on the vineyard’s terroirs for almost 26 years. Today, the vineyard has vineyards spread over the most beautiful parcels of Moselle Luxembourg. In 2001, Domaine Claude Bentz became an official supplier of the Luxembourgish Court and since then is designated “Fournisseur de la Cour”.
What makes the Claude Bentz winery exceptional is the careful selection of grape varieties, high-quality raw materials and a delicate fermentation process. The vineyard strives to cultivate only noble varieties with low yields. In the perspective of constantly improving the quality of the wines, the vines are pruned each year to allow each vine to transmit a number of bunches of grapes.
